SMS/XML/API/SOAP Integration

Integrating your website with other systems increases its potential.  In the digital word API (application programming interface) are often provided to allow one system to talk to an other.

The most common language used is XML, which is a simple text mark-up language.  Other formats are used such as CSV and HTTP variable GET/POSTS.

So what can we do?  Well a common integration task I have managed is linking to a SMS gateway, to allow sending and receiving of text message via a website.  Other examples include integrating with point-of-sale/stock systems, property databases and adding Google Maps tools to sites.
