Website Design
Having an eye for a “good looking” website helps when building a site that also need to “do things”. Issues such as brand compliance, navigation and ease of use are taken into account when creating your interesting websites.
The design process usually starts with what is hot and what is not. Which sites do you prefer? What are your preferred colours and fonts? What is your brand? From there a few flat sketches are created to use as launching pads for the final designs.
CSS and XHTML are the de facto languages for modern site build, and I use these to convert the designs into living, breathing websites.
I also am quite comfortable working with other parties such as your own design team of suppliers to formulate a compliant design.
I’m not afraid to spice things up with a little JavaScript or Web 2.0 tools, but I always keep an eye on making sites compliant and accessible.
