This is a 1988 Vauxhall Senator Auto 3.0i 12v CD in silver/grey. I bought this beauty on 1st May, 2004 from a very nice man called Trevor down in the Wirral and sold it to an equally nice man called Mal on 5th December, 2005. I has since been living in Jedburgh, and now Lossiemouth.
The engine is a straight six, 3.0 litre engine generating 177 BHP. Coupled to it is a 4-speed automatic gearbox with economy, sport and winter mode. The car has done 159k miles and will do 137MPH no problem.
During my ownership modifications have been a new heavy duty battery and refurbished alternator. The car had the soleniod fix fitted to the starter which cures the old problems of hot starts with these cars. Air filter was changed and regular oil changes maintained.
At the wheel
The power steering was very light with a replacement steering wheel. The car was CD spec, which means it had lots of features such as front heated seats, splendid cruise control and 3-mode adjustable ride control.
Really sexy LCD dash (all functioning) with Tacho, odometer, voltage, oil pressure, fuel gauge and temperature readout.
Top of the list with CD spec Senators is the Trip Computer. This fantastic gizmo gives you all sorts to play with such as MPG, average speed, range left and a stopwatch, and I have listed the full functions here.
Interior
The car had grey leather seats with full adjustments and dual lumber controls. Rear seats are three way split and have three seat belt points and a separate heating/air control. There are spotlights on each side of the car and map reading/interior lights at the front.
There are electric windows with child safety controls at the front. Interior had been upgraded to a post-90 interior which includes lots of walnut dash features.
Exterior
The wheel arches had recently been refurbished. The exhaust is blow-free and all lights work as standard. Back bumper and trim had been complete refurbished. Brakes are ABS and the car comes with alloy wheels. Wing mirrors are electronically adjustable.
The car gave me enjoy many many wonderful miles but had to be sold to make way for the next project. It had 12 months MOT on sale - not a thing wrong with it.
