My first orchestral experience was when I was 16, playing Copland's fantastic Hoe-Down and other pieces from the accompanying suite. Since then I have developed a great love for playing tuba (and occasionally trombone and percussion) at orchestral level.
I play mainly BBb Tuba at orchestra concerts, although I sometimes switch to Eb when the needs arises. This year's challenges include Pictures at an Exhibition, Night on a Bare Mountain and Vaughan William's Symphony No. 4.
There are some samples of my playing Tuba here.
