Commidea: Overview

The Commidea API is a SOAP-based service which allows sites to take payments from credit and debit cards. Commidea provides its gateway to be used not only with websites but with other systems such as CRM systems and bespoke order fulfillment software.

API Description

The Commidea API is different to most payment gateways, in that it requires the host website to meet and pass tests for over 35 different requirements before account approval. This is required by Commidea to ensure data is sent to the API in the correct XML format for all instances - be it the differing cards, or requests such as refunds and cancellations.

Most payment gateways will accept card and transaction data and then return a response in one pass, but Commidea requires up to 9 different data exchanges before a payment can be taken.

We have experience of the whole process for Commidea integration which is invaluable to anyone considering integrating a website with this payment provider.
